RV-10 MSFS 2020 Autopilot not working - cobra967 - 02-18-2026

Hello folks,

I’m using MSFS 2020 with an RV-10 purchased from the Marketplace, along with the TDS GTN 750Xi / 650Xi. As far as I can tell, the TDS unit is correctly connected to MSFS—I can see values updating on the G3X as I make changes on the GTN 750/650.

However, I can’t get the autopilot to follow the GPS flight plan from the GTN. When I engage NAV mode, the autopilot does not track the route. In the cockpit, I also notice that the native Garmin 430 is still lighting up, which makes me suspect the RV-10’s autopilot is still sourcing NAV guidance from the internal GNS 430 rather than the external GTN.

My guess is that the aircraft’s autopilot logic isn’t switching to the external GPS source and still “thinks” the 430 is the active navigator.
Has anyone run into this before?

Any advice on how to force the autopilot to follow the GTN 750/650, or on steps to properly troubleshoot the NAV source selection?

I am running TSD 1.3.1.2 and it says "Fligh Simulator is connected" and its green. 
Navigation Source says: GTN750Xi Unit 1

Hello,

For the SWS RV-10, you need to download and install the proper TDS mod, from the SWS website.
https://simworksstudios.com/product/vans-rv10/
Free Extras Section: Free Panel Mods

This will replace the GNS with the TDS GTN650Xi as the 3d model and the G3X/Autopilot will work.

Please let us know how it goes.

Is there a way to also use the GTN 750 (even just as a pop-up window) and have it communicate with the autopilot as well?

Hello,

We are glad to hear that installing the proper TDS mode, there is correct functionality. As the RV-10 is configured using the GTN650Xi by SWS, it is not possible to replace it with the 750Xi.
